HEARTBREAKING STATISTICS
SCHOOLING IN KARAMOJA IS A LUXURY FOR MANY CHILDREN
Only 15% of children in Karamoja attend school. Most of them do not have this opportunity due to increasing poverty, as education is paid.
The cost of primary school is €100 per year , and secondary school is €250 per year — an amount that is an unattainable luxury for most families.
Unable to pay for school, many children wander the open spaces in search of food, take care of livestock or do hard work to survive. Let them become street children, exposed to dangers, vices and exploitation.
